Lost Valley/Save our planet/The Secret and The Corporation
Lost Valley, October 27
Last day in Lost Valley and tomorrow we say our goodbyes. Living in the woods for a month is now over and we have new places to explore.
The weather here in Lost Valley changed a lot while we’ve been here. From being very cold to be quite hot to very windy. People here say that it is not normal for the weather to be like this and that it’s due to climate change. This really makes me think. I’m so far away from home (Denmark/Turkey) and it’s not only there that climate changes occur, it’s all over the world! To witness this myself really makes me want to do something to save our planet. In this case I feel lucky to have learned so much about recycling and to be more cautious about my acts in different environments.
Because the days were so cold, we tended to watch a lot of movies (documentaries). One of them was The Secret. If you believe in the saying ‘faith can move mountains’ then watch this movie. It will definitely change the way you think and how you wish for something to happen. It really gave me something to think about and I’m already incorporating the tools in to my life.
At the moment I am reading an NLP book and have just read the Celestine Prophecy. In different ways, both books explain about how we want certain things to happen in our lives. One is describing it by codes for thinking and the other one by describing our energies. So seeing The Secret was like melting how we think, with our energies and our wishes. Every aspect works together. Our thoughts can become wishes and our wishes can become energies we let out to the world. If we really want to save our planet, we want to work with ourselves as well. By making changes in our life, we can start making changes in the world.
Another documentary I shortly want to mention is The Corporation. This film shows how big corporations manipulate normal people to buy their products. Very interesting to watch. It makes you think about what you buy. Should I go for Nike … ?
In my time here I not only learned about Permaculture but also issues concerning our planet and our selves.
In the end staying in Lost Valley has been quite an experience. A city girl like me had to learn that make up, perfume and trendy clothes weren’t necessary. The lack of comfort of warmth and lighting, to not be able to eat and drink what you want, to be around people you really didn’t have anything in common with and at the same time have a snake phobia like I have (there are lots of snakes here), has really been a challenge and there were a lot of boundaries I had to across.
This blog is going to be the last one from Lost Valley. We are trying to find a ride tomorrow to head out to California. First stop: Santa Barbara

I love it when books you’re reading coincide with what’s happening in your life! I never thought of the connection between Celestine Prophecy and The Secret - I guess I’ll have to re-read both of them!

Because I can really relate to both of them.
Celestine Prophercy is about the energies we send out the universe and being aware of there existence and the secret is about how we can send our wiches out to the universe so they can come true.
