S.A.D Diet
S.A.D.. Also known as the Standard American Diet.
Imagine walking into a barn with this many animals crammed between its walls.. it makes you step back more than normally and see just how barbaric, unnatural and flat out SAD the standard western diet really is.
If you were to create a list of the obvious factors that increase the risk of cancer, heart disease, strokes, intestinal disorders – and just about any illness – the standard American diet has them all:
High in animal fats | High in unhealthy fats: saturated, hydrogenated | Low in fiber | High in processed chemical filled foods | Low in plant-based raw foods
Its shocking when you realize that the cultures in the world that are complete opposite of this western lazy diet with low fat, high in complex carbohydrates, mostly plant-based, and high in fiber – have such lower risks and incidence of cancer, heart attacks and obesity. The US has spent more money on cancer research than any country in the world, yet the American diet contributes to the very diseases they are spending money to prevent.
It is continuous researched information like this that are fueling the health and lifestyle movement across the western world. It is time to take the necessary steps ourselves and share with others the simple tools and knowledge of how to make this change. . . . . one bite at a time!
