Lifestyle changes pay off
Contrary to the popular excuse, its never too late to make positive changes to your health. Mounting a 4 pronged attack such as this approach can have dramatic effects for the better.
Its never too late to quit smoking. Smoking cigarettes is probably the single most harmful thing you can do to yourself and quitting will breathe a new lease of life into you and your loved ones who are exposed to poisonous second hand smoke. Here’s anti smoking lobby group ASHs resource page for help in stopping smoking.
I love eating and no one is going to tell me to eat less. Eat right and then you can eat as much as you want as far as I’m concerned. 5 servings a day of fruit and veg is scratching the surface. If you want vibrant health no matter what your age, fill your plate with veggies. The 75% 25% rule will give you a solid foundation for the road to greater energy.
If you like a drink I recommend going for quality. Alcohol is not a product which is going to improve your health. So-called health promoting benefits of wines for instance are those found in the grapes themselves. Organic wines, beers and spirits, blended with fresh juices will balance the effects of alcohol with some refreshing nutrients minus the residues of poisonous pesticides.
And lastly exercise. Call it what you want but just move at every opportunity. Our bodies are designed to move and our sedentary lifestyles restrict their ability to nourish, restore and cleanse. Climb the stairs at work, walk to the shops or get up and change the TV channel by hand. Incorporate movement into your daily life.
And lastly, make time to HAVE FUN and all other positive steps will be enhanced.
